Setting the Display on My AMOLED Watch to Always On

To maximize battery life and increase screen longevity, watches with an AMOLED screen default to a setting that will turn it off while in smartwatch and activity modes. Pressing a button, double-tapping the screen, or raising your wrist will turn it back on.

AMOLED watches offer an Always On Display setting to keep the watch face data visible, while the brightness and background turn down. Always On mode will decrease the time between battery recharging cycles and enabling the feature will provide a lower fidelity where the display will not be as sharp.

Additionally, the watch must be worn on the wrist for the Always On feature to work. When off the wrist, the display will still turn off. The Always On and Gesture settings are disabled during your sleep window to prevent the display from turning on while you are asleep. For information about the sleep window, see:  Setting Sleep and Wake Window Times in Garmin Connect™.

NOTE: The Face It® watch face app and some Connect IQ™ store watch faces are not supported by the Always On Display setting.
